Audi revives A2 nameplate as ultra-efficient electric compact

Audi unveiled the A2 e-Tron, an all-electric compact hatchback, in September 2026. Built at the Ingolstadt plant, it will begin European deliveries in December 2026. The rear-wheel-drive model emphasizes aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of 0.24 Cd and a WLTP-rated range of up to 646 km (401 mi) on the 84 kWh battery.

Audi emphasizes that the A2 e-Tron “redefines efficiency” by pairing a modest battery with advanced aerodynamics, including an enclosed underbody, active front intakes, and specially shaped wheels. The model supports bidirectional charging—Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) where compatible DC wall boxes are installed. Audi notes the “technical intelligence” focuses on reducing consumption rather than simply increasing battery capacity or power output.
