Government Forces Advance
- Intense fighting broke out between Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces and Iran-backed Houthi rebels in the southwest, centered on the Bab al-Mandeb Strait corridor, from September 4-7 2026.
- AFP reported the death toll rose above 300 by September 7, while UN OCHA said more than 20,000 people and 1,800 households were displaced.
- Government forces retook Tabbat al-Khazan and captured the Hays district, expanding their control in the southwest.
