A full closure of the culvert beneath Herrick St is now underway to accelerate completion, with the council scheduling a return to two-way traffic on September 21 (scheduled).

Superette owner Shastri says the prolonged works have jeopardized his livelihood. He has sold two family cars to meet mortgage arrears, missed two months of lease payments, and faced a supplier cut-off due to unpaid bills. Credit history damage threatens future financing. Neighboring businesses echo the strain: Chiv Tan, owner of League Park Fish Supply, reports a loss of about $2,000 per week since January, while Pheanrith Seng, proprietor of Century Bakery & Café, notes a “significant drop” in income.
