Historical Context

In the 2021 election the United Arab List (Ra'am) left the Joint List, won four Knesset seats and on 2 June 2021 Mansour Abbas signed a coalition with Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, giving the government a 61-seat majority and unlocking a 53-billion-shekel Arab-town investment plan. Today Otzma Yehudit’s bid to bar Ra'am and B’Yachad’s inclusion of Jewish candidate Yoav Segalovitz revives the same coalition-building clash.
