A severe rain-and-hail event described by city officials as a “100-year storm” struck Toronto last week, causing extensive damage to the temporary Rogers Stadium. The City of Toronto required Live Nation, the stadium’s operator, to retain an engineer, assess the damage, and submit a detailed report outlining remedial measures and a repair schedule. The city confirmed receipt of the engineering report and said it is under review. Officials emphasized that any reconstruction will need a building permit and that the city will continue to work with the venue owner throughout the remediation process.

Live Nation met the early-September deadline to deliver its engineering findings. The municipal order also obliges the promoter to follow the engineer’s recommendations and provide an update on progress by a subsequent early-September date.
