Lisa McClain Defends Ohio Rep. Max Miller Despite Abuse Allegations

House Republican Conference Chair Lisa McClain (R-MI) told CBS’s *Face the Nation* that she will continue to back Ohio Representative Max Miller (R-OH) in his re-election bid, even as two former partners have publicly accused him of domestic abuse. The National Republican Congressional Committee has earmarked roughly $500,000 to support Miller’s campaign.

The allegations stem from statements by two ex-partners, one of whom is Emily Moreno, daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH). Moreno alleges that Miller broke her daughter’s collarbone and scalded her with hot water, citing court records. Miller has denied all claims and, earlier this summer, released documents that he says prove his innocence, including transcripts of disputes over hypodermic needles and police reports of threats.
