Social activist Sonam Wangchuk warned that if the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) does not provide a written assurance within a week on Ladakh’s constitutional demands, he will call a nationwide agitation from September 19 to September 24. The warning follows a “disappointing” sub-committee meeting in New Delhi on September 9, where leaders of the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) said little progress was made on an elected body for the Union Territory (UT).
