Man Pleads Guilty to Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assault via Online Forum

Darren Conway, 52, entered a guilty plea to 11 offences at Wood Green Crown Court, including voyeurism, possession of extreme pornography and encouraging another man to sexually assault his unconscious wife. The indictment details that Conway solicited naked images of sleeping women on at least ten occasions between 2023 and 2026. He was arrested on July 30 after police identified him as a member of an online groupchat used to coordinate such abuse.

The Metropolitan Police uncovered the forum in October 2025 following the high-profile Gisèle Pelicot case in France. The discovery prompted the National Crime Agency to lead a national coordination group aimed at tackling organised drug-facilitated sexual offending. Officers said much of the offending is believed to have occurred in the UK, though some victims may be overseas. Police continue to examine footage on Conway’s devices to identify additional victims.

Scotland Yard’s Commander Andy Day described the conduct as “shocking” and warned that encouraging sexual offences against unconscious victims places women at serious risk of harm in their own homes. Crown Prosecutor Alexander Agbamu highlighted the defendant’s role in an online forum that links participants involved in organised sexual offending and domestic abuse. Chief Crown Prosecutor Tracy Easton emphasized that the plea should give confidence to anyone who believes they may have suffered similar abuse to come forward. Judge John Dodd KC noted that sentencing will occur on October 30.
