On July 24 a black Seat Cupra Formentor collided with a lamppost near the junction of East Prescot Road and Liverpool Road in Huyton, Merseyside, killing four men: Jack Diggle, 23; Ben Dooley, 23; Andrew Roberts, 24; and Craig Shackleton-Brady, 26. Senior coroner Anita Bhardwaj said the victims died from “multiple injuries,” identified through dental records and clothing captured on CCTV. James Diggle, 27, survived the crash and was later charged.
Legal Proceedings and Charges
Liverpool Crown Court charged James Diggle with three counts of aiding and abetting Ben Dooley to cause the deaths of his brother Jack Diggle, Andrew Roberts and Craig Shackleton-Brady by dangerous driving. He entered a not-guilty plea and was remanded in custody. The trial is scheduled for the week of February 22 (next year) and is expected to last five to seven days.
