McLaren Minerals reported a 24-metre intercept grading 7.54 % heavy minerals (HM) from surface at its namesake project in the Eucla Basin, Western Australia. Across the latest 61-hole batch, the length-weighted average was 4.57 % HM over an average thickness of 21.2 m, with every interval beginning at surface. Seventy percent of the holes returned at least 4 % HM, and one-third averaged 5 % HM or higher. Notable additional hits include a 13-metre interval at 7.25 % HM and a 27-metre strike at 5.83 % HM, both from surface. Nine holes produced one-metre assays of at least 10 % HM, the highest reaching 20.10 % HM. Managing Director Simon Finnis said the results exceed the grade of the 2025 mineral resource estimate of 529 Mt at 4.5 % HM and give confidence for the next mineral-resource update due later this year.

Recent United States Geological Survey data indicate rutile prices around US$1,450 (A$2,033) per tonne and ilmenite near US$350 (A$491) per tonne, providing a solid commercial backdrop for the project. Governments have classified titanium a critical mineral for aerospace, defence, and emerging-energy technologies, heightening the strategic importance of large domestic deposits such as McLaren’s.

Company Outlook and Upcoming Milestones

The 2026 drilling program, comprising 663 holes and 11,568 metres, aims to increase confidence in the existing resource and supply data for future technical studies. The company has also completed acquisition of the zircon-rich Barossa project in South Australia, expanding its presence in the Eucla Basin. If the shallow, high-grade results can be replicated across a meaningful portion of the deposit, the economics of the McLaren project could improve substantially as it moves toward a bankable feasibility study. The next mineral-resource update, scheduled for later this year, will assess whether the new assay data justify an upgrade to the current 529 Mt resource.
