Dominant Web Traffic in August 2026

Comscore reported that Fox News Digital recorded 76 million unique visitors on desktop and mobile devices during August 2026, outpacing all other news outlets for the fourth month in a row. The platform also logged 1.47 billion multiplatform views and 3.2 billion multiplatform minutes, marking its 28th consecutive month as the leading news brand in views and its 66th month in minutes.

Comparative Performance Across Major Outlets

The next-closest competitor, CBS News, attracted 70 million unique visitors, followed by NBC News with 65 million, The New York Times with 63 million, CNN with 56 million, and ABC News with 29 million. In multiplatform views, The New York Times posted 1.27 billion, while CNN lagged at 415 million. Corresponding multiplatform minutes were 1 billion for The New York Times and 647 million for CNN.

Social-Media Engagement Strengthens Lead

Emplifi and Comscore Social data showed Fox News as the most engaged news brand on social platforms for the 144th consecutive month, accumulating 85 million interactions in August. Interactions broke down into 26 million on Facebook, 14.5 million on Instagram, 4.7 million on X, and a surge on TikTok with over 39 million interactions, an 80 percent increase from the previous year. Across all social channels, Fox News generated 1.4 billion video views during the month.

Implications of Sustained Digital Dominance

The consistent outperformance across unique visitors, multiplatform consumption, and social engagement underscores Fox News Digital’s entrenched position in the U.S. news ecosystem. Maintaining top rankings for over two years in views and more than five years in minutes suggests a durable audience base that may influence advertising revenue distribution and the competitive strategies of rival outlets seeking to close the digital gap.
