Taiwan donates patrol ship Lienchiang to Philippines for testing

Taiwan’s Coast Guard transferred the decommissioned 500-tonne patrol vessel Lienchiang to the Philippines, which left Kaohsiung on Thursday for testing.
Taiwan highlighted that Manila acknowledges Beijing under a one-China policy, unlike Pacific partners that maintain formal diplomatic ties with Taipei.
The Philippines registered the vessel as the law-enforcement ship Bling No. 1.
Taiwan said it will keep expanding marine-research, humanitarian assistance and fisheries cooperation with the Philippines.
