Sweden Democrats decline
- Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson resigned on Thursday, 17 September 2026, after his right-wing bloc lost the general election.
- The defeat was decided by a margin of roughly 50,000 votes, giving the centre-left bloc a three-seat majority in the 349-seat Riksdag.
- Magdalena Andersson will return and has begun talks with the Left, Centre and Greens.
- Sweden Democrats fell about three points, their first decline since entering parliament in 2010.
