The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders for designated zones, requiring residents in the “red” area to leave immediately, while evacuation warnings were issued for surrounding regions. Washoe County lifted “ready-to-evacuate” notices for some areas, but evacuation warnings and orders persisted in Nevada, Sierra, and Washoe counties. Residents were advised to avoid Dog Valley Road, which was closed as a detour.

NV Energy reported that 131 customers lost power due to the fire, and the Truckee Donner Public Utility District warned that an emergency de-energization of transmission lines could cut power to all its customers without advance notice. The utility urged customers to charge devices and prepare for a possible outage. Air Quality Northern Nevada Public Health issued an Air-Quality Advisory for the Reno-Sparks area, noting that on September 16 the Air Quality Index reached 109 in Verdi, placing it in the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” range.
