CBSE Has Not Yet Released the 2027 Class 10-12 Exam Date Sheet or Private-Candidate Forms

Current Status

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not announced a timetable for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the 2027 session, nor issued the private-candidate application form. The board’s examination circular page, updated on September 18, 2026, lists only a September 10 notice for submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2026-27 session. No separate notification for the 2027 private-candidate application has been posted.

Background & Recent Preparations

CBSE is already finalising candidate data and has invited bids for scanning “flying slips” that contain student details. This follows the same process used for the 2026 examinations, when a tentative date sheet was released on September 24, 2025 and a final schedule on October 30, 2025.

Expected Release Windows & Key Dates

  • Tentative 2027 date sheet: Anticipated in the last week of September 2026.
  • Final 2027 date sheet: Expected in October-November 2026.
  • Private-candidate application form: Historically released in September of the year preceding the exam cycle; no notice has appeared for 2027 as of the September 18, 2026 update.

The board’s examination cycle typically runs in February-March, but exact 2027 dates will be confirmed only after the official timetable is published.

Official Guidance to Students

CBSE advises students to rely exclusively on the official website (cbse.gov.in) for timetable or application information and to avoid PDFs or social-media circulations that may contain incorrect dates. Students should download the official date sheet once released and verify subject-wise dates, exam timings, and any instructions regarding the two-exam system for Class 10 and practical assessments for Class 12.

Implications for Candidates

  • Private candidates must wait for the notification to learn eligibility, fees, application windows, and city-selection rules. Past cycles required accurate entry of roll numbers and year of passing; errors led to rejections.
  • Class 10 students should monitor the upcoming timetable for details on the main examination and the second examination under the board’s two-exam system introduced in 2026.
  • Class 12 students need to note that practical examinations for winter-bound schools are scheduled earlier, with other schools’ practicals typically occurring in January-February.
