Six weeks before the November 3 election, Talarico leads Paxton in most major polls. An Emerson College survey conducted August 9-10 showed Paxton trailing by one point, while an Overton Insights poll August 21-24 found the candidates neck-and-neck. A Texas Southern University poll August 18-22 reported Talarico holding significant leads in districts TX-15, TX-28, and TX-34—areas President Donald Trump carried by double digits in 2024.
