Councillor Jerome Davidson, speaking at a recent council meeting, called the delay unacceptable and said the town’s youth hub is “falling down” and “has to be dealt with.” The Haslemere Youth Club, which records more than 60,000 annual visits, voiced “significant concerns” about demolishing its building, urging that any decision consider the broader impact on children, families, and the community. Resident Rachel James, a former nearby resident, argued that the town already has two supermarkets and does not need another.
