Incident Overview
Early Saturday, freshman running back Marvins Antoine, 18, was stabbed in the chest outside the Mezzo Lounge nightclub in Providence, Rhode Island, and later died at Rhode Island Hospital. A second freshman, defensive back Kensley Macean, 19, was also stabbed in the head, neck and left arm; police described his injuries as non-life-threatening. Police Investigation and Suspect Arrest
Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez said investigators used nearby traffic-camera footage to locate the vehicle used by the suspect, who was identified as Chukuwnonoso Uzoma Eze, a 19-year-old UMass Dartmouth student not affiliated with the football team. Eze was taken into custody on campus and is being held pending extradition to Rhode Island on a murder charge.
