Sheikh Mohammed Launches Platform
- Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani launched Doha Investment to manage Qatar Investment Authority’s domestic portfolio.
- Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani was appointed managing director and vice-chairman of the new platform.
- Doha Investment will initially oversee 45 state-owned firms, roughly one-third of QIA’s $580 billion assets.
- The platform targets AI, advanced technology, manufacturing and healthcare while Qatar plans $38.5 billion infrastructure and $22.5 billion real-estate projects.
