Historical Context

In 1992 the EU adopted Directive 92/57 on safety of temporary construction sites, obliging member states to enforce fall-protection measures. The directive inspired the UK’s Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, which codified duties for site managers and scaffold safety.
