Background & Context
Star Meat Delivery Inc., a Lucama, North Carolina company, produced the affected meat without federal inspection. The products were shipped to A&D Foods, a distributor in Georgia, for onward distribution to retail stores and restaurants nationwide. FSIS identified the false “EST. 1363” label during routine surveillance activities, prompting the recall.
Products Affected and Distribution
The recalled items include ground pork, chorizo, pork chops, pork ribs, pork feet, beef ribs, oxtail, and various goat cuts sold under the A&D Foods label. All were vacuum-sealed in cardboard boxes; individual consumer packages may have been re-stickered by retailers with pricing or handling instructions, making the false establishment number less visible.

FSIS stated that meat produced without inspection may contain harmful bacteria, undeclared allergens, or other contaminants, posing a health risk. The agency reported no confirmed illnesses or injuries linked to the recalled products.
