Drill campaign confirms mineralisation across Dulcie Central
Zenith Minerals announced that the first six holes drilled in the previously untested “Dulcie Central” corridor—all located between its Dulcie North and Dulcie South deposits—returned measurable gold. The initial assay from the program includes a 3-metre interval grading 2.48 g/t gold from 130 m depth, alongside intersect s of 4 m at 1.3 g/t, 6 m at 0.93 g/t and 2 m at 2.42 g/t. Managing director Andrew Smith described the results as an encouraging start that supports the company’s geological model of a continuous gold-bearing shear zone through the 600-metre gap.
Project context and strategic location
The Dulcie gold project, part of the Southern Cross–Forrestania gold belt, already holds a 675,000-ounce resource and benefits from granted mining leases, shallow open-pit mineralisation, and proximity to processing facilities at Marvel Loch and Edna May. Historically, the broader project has produced high-grade intercepts such as 32 m at 9.4 g/t and 3 m at 70 g/t gold, underscoring the potential impact of linking the two main deposits.
Resource implications of the new data
If subsequent assays from the remaining 25 reverse-circulation holes confirm the initial trend, Zenith may pursue a maiden mineral resource estimate for the central corridor tenement and consider an update to the existing resource at Dulcie South. The company expects the pending assay results to be released in October.
Corporate developments and official comments
An off-market scrip takeover by Forrestania Resources, valued at approximately $93.5 million, is ongoing as the parties negotiate terms and address shareholder concerns. Smith indicated that, despite the takeover talks, Zenith remains focused on systematic drilling and expanding its gold ounces.
Outlook
With assay results imminent, Zenith will evaluate whether the confirmed mineralisation justifies a formal resource estimate for Dulcie Central. The outcome will influence both the company’s growth trajectory and the broader dynamics of the Southern Cross–Forrestania gold belt.
