Amazon Launches Prime Big Deal Days Sale
By Drooid · · How we work
Sale Timing and Scope
Amazon’s fall “Prime Big Deal Days” event—its second major shopping promotion of the year—opens early Tuesday morning in early October and runs through late Wednesday night. The company states the sale starts at 12:01 a.m. PT (3:01 a.m. ET) on Tuesday and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT (2:59 a.m. ET) on Wednesday, offering Prime members thousands of discounts across categories such as technology, toys, travel essentials, fashion and beauty.
Membership Requirements and Discounted Options
Access to the deals is limited to Amazon Prime members. Amazon notes that shoppers can begin with a one-week trial for $1.99, or choose from several reduced-price plans. Young adults (ages 18-24) and students may receive a six-month “Prime for Young Adults” membership at no cost, then pay $7.49 per month (or $69 annually) for the remainder of the year. Qualifying recipients of EBT or Medicaid can enroll in “Prime Access” for $3.50 per month during the first three months, rising to $6.99 thereafter. These options are intended to broaden participation among price-sensitive shoppers.
Shopping Strategies and Tools
Amazon recommends using Alexa or its new AI shopping assistant, Rufus, to set deal alerts, compare products and plan purchases. Creating an Amazon Wishlist ahead of the event lets users track price drops and receive notifications when items go on sale. The company also advises shoppers to act quickly, as many discounts are expected to disappear before the November holiday-shopping rush.
Early Deal Highlights
Ahead of the official launch, Amazon has already posted early-October discounts on several popular items, including Apple AirTags, portable chargers, and Colorfulkoala leggings marketed as fall apparel. While the sale features a broad range of products, Amazon clarifies that not every item on the platform will be discounted during the event.
