In May, 28-year-old Nathan Blagg stole a Massey Ferguson tractor near Kirklevington, North Yorkshire, drove it at speed for about nine miles and deliberately rammed it into a three-bedroom terraced house on Priory Road, Middlesbrough. The house was empty at the time, but the impact threatened a neighbouring party wall and caused £56,000 of structural damage; a £30,000 hay baler was written off. Five days later Blagg stole a Jaguar, smashed it into a lamppost, spun the car 180°, and threw the streetlight 20 metres down the road. Both occupants of the Jaguar were seriously injured, yet Blagg attempted to drive the wreck away while paramedics attended.
Feud and Provocation
The property targeted was linked to Luke Lancaster, a rival who had posted video of himself kicking and urinating on the graves of Blagg’s father and brother. Defense lawyer Rod Hunt highlighted the footage, arguing that the property attack was a response to Lancaster’s “disgusting behaviour”. The court heard that Blagg and Lancaster had an “ongoing feud”, including a prior street clash on 21 April that Blagg later claimed was self-defence.

Victim Impact
The family who had lived in the rammed house for 24 years had already moved out after earlier attacks. In a victim impact statement, a resident said she now fears revealing her address and doubts she can obtain a mortgage or insurance.
