Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced that a 34-year-old woman from Burlington, identified as Nassim Eronn, has been charged with 65 offences linked to alleged theft and fraud at multiple health-care centres across the province. The charges stem from a series of incidents reported to have begun in February 2024 and continued through the previous month.
Scope of Alleged Offences
The OPP’s charging document lists:
- 34 counts of fraud involving amounts under $5,000 each,
- 13 counts of theft involving amounts under $5,000 each,
- seven counts of disobeying a court order,
- additional charges of breach of trust, impersonation and related offences.
These counts reflect alleged wrongdoing directed at both patients and staff members at the facilities where Eronn was employed.
Investigation Timeline and Methodology
The investigation was launched in May 2024 after a report of theft at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, located about 130 km north of Toronto. Following that initial complaint, OPP investigators expanded the probe to other hospitals after receiving further reports of theft and fraud. Multiple search warrants were executed, resulting in the seizure of significant amounts of property believed to be linked to the alleged crimes.
