Incident Overview
A two-vehicle head-on crash on State Highway 21 east of Lowman resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries. The collision occurred on a Saturday in the early afternoon, around 2 p.m., at milepost 84. A southbound black 2020 Lexus, driven by a 40-year-old Boise man and carrying a juvenile passenger, crossed the center line into the northbound lane. Simultaneously, a northbound gray 2020 Nissan Armada, driven by a 40-year-old Caldwell man with a 32-year-old Caldwell woman as passenger, swerved to avoid the Lexus and the two vehicles struck head-on. The female passenger in the Nissan died at the scene. All occupants were wearing seatbelts; the Nissan driver and all Lexus occupants were air-lifted to local hospitals.
Emergency Response
Idaho State Police opened an investigation and coordinated the response with the Boise County Sheriff’s Office, Garden Valley Fire and EMS, and Air St. Luke’s. Air ambulance transport was used for the three surviving occupants. The crash site remained fully blocked for approximately five hours while investigators cleared the wreckage and restored traffic flow.
