On Sunday, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari defended Election Commission and blamed Mamata Banerjee for deleting 27 lakh voters in Special Intensive Revision.
District judges, following the Supreme Court's Article 142 order, carried out the deletions, not election officials.
He contrasted West Bengal’s 208 seats with Kerala’s opposition 80 seats.
BJP West Bengal chief Samik Bhattacharya praised CEC Gyanesh Kumar and urged a Padma Bhushan.

Historical Context
