Emergency Response
Fire crews from Horwich and Hindley fire stations, together with the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh fire station, arrived quickly. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said firefighters extricated three people who were trapped inside the vehicles. The North West Ambulance Service treated the three casualties on-scene before transporting them to hospital. GMFRS reported that fire crews remained at the location for roughly 90 minutes while the roadway was cleared and made safe.
