Project Overview
“New Talpiot,” a residential complex in Jerusalem’s Talpiot district adjacent to Arnona, is being built as a low-rise community that integrates housing with nearby schools, kindergartens, a synagogue, commercial centers and emerging transport links. The plan calls for eight residential buildings arranged around an internal park of roughly 6.5 dunams, with shared pathways and a commercial avenue.
Construction Status and Housing Mix
Four of the eight buildings are already occupied. The remaining four structures, each ten stories high, are under construction and will add 192 housing units. The new buildings offer a range of unit types, including two- to five-room apartments, garden apartments, mini-penthouses and penthouses.
Resident Profile and Community Life
The occupied portion of the complex already hosts a diverse population of Israeli families and immigrants from North America and Europe, many of whom belong to the English-speaking community. Residents work in education, medicine, law and high-tech sectors. Community interaction is emphasized through close neighbor relationships, children playing together, joint Shabbat and holiday gatherings, and occasional prayer services held inside the buildings.
Design Features and Future Connectivity
The neighborhood layout deliberately avoids high towers, favoring a modest vertical profile that blends with the surrounding environment. Proximity to planned routes for three light-rail lines, new bicycle paths and the future Route 16 corridor is intended to enhance mobility for residents. The central park and shared spaces aim to provide environmental quality and recreational opportunities within walking distance of homes.
