Helix Digital Infrastructure was launched in June 2026 by KKR & Co. together with the Kuwait Investment Authority, Nvidia Corp., and Vistra Corp. The company is led by Adam Selipsky, former chief executive of Amazon Web Services. Nvidia is described as a strategic partner, while Vistra serves as Helix’s preferred power partner. Helix has secured more than $10 billion in long-term capital commitments, and KKR has invested roughly $9 billion in Korea since 2009 as part of its broader $75 billion global digital-infrastructure portfolio.

Analysts note that the rapid expansion of generative-AI models is driving sharp increases in demand for hyperscale computing capacity, power, and cooling. By joining Helix, Samsung aims to address the “power supply” bottleneck that limits AI-data-center growth, positioning its affiliates to supply everything from data-center construction (Samsung C&T) to uninterruptible power supplies (Samsung SDI) and GPU-cloud services (Samsung SDS).
