History

Historical Context

In 1995 Karnataka approved the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor, a 6,999-acre, INR1.2 billion toll-road plan managed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE). The project stalled and was superseded by the NH-275 Bengaluru-Mysuru access-controlled expressway, whose foundation was laid in March 2018. Current accusations by former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy against CM D.K. Shivakumar revive long-standing concerns over land-allocation transparency and have drawn tax, election and enforcement probes.
