Historical Context

Sheikh Zayed founded the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in 1976 to invest surplus oil revenues; by 2020 it managed nearly $1 trillion, making it the world’s third-largest sovereign fund and a co-chair of the 2008 Santiago Principles. Building on that legacy, Singapore’s Temasek Holdings is expanding Gulf-Asia capital links, reinforcing the partnership between the two sovereign investors.
