History

Historical Context

In 2009 Congress questioned the NFL’s concussion policies, prompting a policy overhaul and a 2013 settlement of roughly $765 million with former players. That year Vicis introduced a four-layer helmet that topped the NFL’s 2017 laboratory test of 33 helmets, showing a 30 % drop in preseason head-impact metrics. Today Patrick Mahomes wears the newer ZERO2 model in Kansas City’s subzero playoff clash.
