By Drooid · · How we work
Background: Marking Three Years Since the October 7 Attack
The conference is scheduled for October 7, 2026, exactly three years after the October 7 attack that launched the War of Revival. Organizers intend the event to review the strategic shifts Israel has experienced during the three-year conflict and to outline security challenges that lie ahead.
Participants and Their Roles
The Israel Defense and Security Forum (IDSF-Habithonistim) will convene senior figures from the defense establishment, reserve commanders, industry leaders, diplomats and local officials. Key participants include:
- Yuval Steinitz – Chairman of the Board of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, slated to address the war’s technological dimension and the defense industry’s contribution to national security.
- Daniel Levy – Israel Police Commissioner, expected to discuss national security challenges on the home front.
- J.P. Singh – Indian Ambassador to Israel, who will speak on Israel’s diplomatic standing and the importance of international partnerships during a prolonged conflict.
- Itamar Eitam (Lt. Col., reserve) – will focus on Israel’s ground forces.
- Dov Oster, father of the late Capt. Eitan Oster, and Ilan Dickstein, father of the late Lt. Ivri Dickstein, will represent the human cost and national spirit.
- Gabi Naaman – Head of the Shlomi Local Council, and Yossi Hollander, entrepreneur and philanthropist, will examine community resilience and the expanding “soft campaign” of international delegitimization.
Topics on the Agenda
Panels will explore capabilities developed during the war, multi-front ground combat, Israel’s technological edge, and diplomatic implications of the conflict. A special session, moderated by IDSF CEO Col. (res.) Ronen Itzik, will assess national resilience, lessons learned since October 7, and strategies for strengthening the home front in the coming years.
Anticipated Significance
By gathering defense, diplomatic and civil leaders, the conference aims to synthesize wartime experience into a forward-looking security strategy. Organizers highlight the need to adapt to a reshaped threat landscape, preserve Israel’s technological advantage, and bolster societal cohesion amid ongoing regional pressures.
