History

Historical Context

The 2004 ALCS saw the Red Sox erase a 0-3 deficit, becoming the first MLB team to win a best-of-seven after trailing three games and ending an 86-year World Series drought, a turnaround that reshaped Yankees roster strategy. By 2026, manager Aaron Boone’s injury-driven lineup changes echo the lesson that depth and medical assessment are crucial.
