History

Historical Context

The 1982 fake encounter that killed DSP K.P. Singh in Gonda, later exposed by a CBI probe and resulting in eight police convictions in 2013, highlighted systemic police collusion and delayed justice. Decades later, the 2024 murder of retired IAS officer Rakesh Agrawal in Bhopal echoes those security failures, prompting calls for stricter vetting of police hires.
