In 2004, Capt. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore earned a 144-point silver in men’s double trap at Athens, India’s first Olympic shooting medal and first individual silver. The win helped India collect seven of its 41 Olympic medals in shooting and prompted Sports Authority of India support. In 2028, archers Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav clinched a quota with a 158-157 shoot-off, echoing Rathore’s narrow margin.
