History

Historical Context

The NFL launched its International Series with the New York Giants defeating the Miami Dolphins at Wembley on Oct 28, 2007, when the first 40,000 tickets sold out in 90 minutes. Since then the league has made London a yearly stop, a pattern the 2024 Washington Commanders now follow, coping with injuries and staggered arrivals that echo the logistical challenges first seen in that inaugural game.
