In 1975 the UN General Assembly, backed by the Arab League and Soviet-aligned states, passed Resolution 3379 declaring Zionism a form of racism with 72 votes for, 35 against and 32 abstentions. After the Cold-War shift, the same body repealed it on 16 December 1991 by a 111-to-25 vote. Today Green Party leader Zack Polanski revives the debate, echoing that historic split.
