Fury had been denied boarding a Manchester-to-U.S. flight in June 2022 over alleged Daniel Kinahan links.

Anthony Joshua questions Fury’s recent drug testing, saying it may breach contract-signed testing timelines.

History

Historical Context

The Patriot Act, signed on October 26, 2001, expanded U.S. immigration controls and introduced ten new sections to the Immigration and Nationality Act. The Department of State reported a 15 percent rise in visa denials during the act’s first year, affecting over 1.2 million applicants. In 2022, Fury’s denied Manchester-to-U.S. boarding over alleged Kinahan ties mirrored the act’s tightened scrutiny, prompting Dana White to appeal to President Donald Trump. The episode underscores how post-2001 security policies continue shaping high-profile boxing promotions, influencing future match-up logistics and political negotiations for stakeholders.
