Summary

Seahawks IR Price

Seahawks placed rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve after aggravating a chest injury.
The move forces Price to miss at least four games, making him eligible to return Week 8 on Nov. 2.
Seattle signed running back Velus Jones Jr. from the practice squad to fill the vacant roster spot.
With Price out, Emanuel Wilson (109 yards) and George Holani (102 yards) become the team's primary backs.

Summary

Charbonnet Activation Deadline

Seattle delayed Zach Charbonnet’s return designation by one day to add a mid-week practice.
Charbonnet’s 21-day activation window now ends on October 22, setting his possible debut deadline.
Coaches consider the home game against the Chiefs the most realistic slot for Charbonnet to suit up.
Ty Okada remained off short-term IR because his hamstring injury recovery took longer than expected.

History

Historical Context

In 2012 the NFL-NFLPA agreement introduced a one-player injured-reserve return rule, letting a player practice after week 6 and rejoin the 53-man roster after eight games. The Seahawks’ 2024 moves—placing rookie Jadarian Price on IR for at least four games and postponing Zach Charbonnet’s 21-day activation—use that flexibility to keep depth and influence their playoff positioning.
