History

Historical Context

On 26 March 2015 Saudi Arabia led a nine-nation coalition that launched Operation Decisive Storm in Yemen after President Hadi fled, conducting thousands of airstrikes and a blockade that displaced about 3.5 million people by 2016. The effort shifted to Operation Restoring Hope, intensifying the Saudi-Iran proxy war, and today Houthi missile strikes on Saudi Aramco in Riyadh echo that same retaliation cycle.
