History

Historical Context

In 2010, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launched the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, targeting climate-resilient farming across India. The mission allocated INR2,500 crore, training 1.2 million farmers in natural and solar-powered techniques by the end of 2015. Similarly, on October 4, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened 48 Haryana BJP MLAs, including Nayab Singh Saini, urging replication of those sustainable practices. If Haryana legislators amplify the scheme via social media and constituency visits, the region could mirror the mission’s 2020 target of 30 % renewable-energy-based farms.
