History

Historical Context

In 2008, the New York Giants captured Super Bowl XLII, defeating the New England Patriots 17-14 and ending New England’s perfect season hopes. Head coach Tom Coughlin guided a roster that endured 12 injuries, yet quarterback Eli Manning threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns. Similarly, the 2024 Giants, now 3-1, confront season-ending ACL loss to Brian Burns and MCL surgery to rookie Jaxson Dart, echoing past injury challenges. If the 2008 squad’s resilience proves instructive, New York may still secure a playoff berth despite depleted pass rush and tight-end reliance.
