History

Historical Context

When the Indian Institutes of Management introduced computer-based CAT administration in 2009, the exam shifted from paper to digital platforms. IIM Ahmedabad led the pilot, processing 2,500 applicants through the new online portal while the Ministry of Human Resource Development allocated INR12 million for infrastructure upgrades. Similarly, IIM Indore now opens a CAT 2026 correction window on October 5, allowing candidates to amend photographs, signatures, test-state and city preferences through iimcat.ac.in. This digital continuity ensures streamlined admissions, enabling over 180 Indian cities, including New Delhi, to host the November 29 exam and preserving the standardized 68-question format.
