History

Historical Context

Miami’s 1972 Dolphins, under third-year coach Don Shula, posted a 14-0 regular season and finished 17-0—the NFL’s only perfect campaign. Their dominance, leading both scoring and defense, set a benchmark that few later teams have matched; the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, both unbeaten, now chase a similarly rare flawless run.
