A televised and streamed leaders’ debate is set for a Wednesday in mid-October, two weeks before the province’s election in late October. The event will run for roughly two hours in the early evening and is intended to give voters a direct comparison of the three major party leaders.
Participants and Moderation
The debate will feature British Columbia New Democratic Party leader David Eby, Conservative Party leader Lorne Doerkson, and Green Party leader Emily Lowan. Shachi Kurl, president of the Angus Reid Institute, will serve as moderator and is expected to guide discussion across a wide range of issues important to British Columbians.
Candidate Slate Overview
According to Elections BC, the Conservative Party has a complete slate of 93 candidates. The NDP is fielding 92 candidates, noting an incomplete filing for the Peace River-North riding. The Green Party has nominated 73 candidates, while the centrist parties CentreBC and OneBC have 35 and 33 candidates respectively.

The debate will be carried live on all major provincial television and radio networks, including Global BC, CBC, CTV, CITY TV, and CHEK. It will also be streamed online through CBC British Columbia’s website and YouTube channel, ensuring broad accessibility for viewers across the province.
