History

Historical Context

Since the NFL International Series debuted on Oct 28 2007 when the New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins at Wembley, the league has added Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London Stadium and other overseas venues, using London games to test scheduling, as with the Indianapolis Colts’ 2016 bye-week experiment. The Oct 4 2026 Colts-Commanders win in London extends that long-running expansion.
