Report Overview

On August 24 2026 the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a comprehensive three-year report covering activities that began after the October 7 massacre. The document enumerates operational achievements, infrastructure developments, and personnel statistics across the IDF’s various commands.

Target Engagements by Region

According to the report, the IDF has struck nearly 100,000 targets since October 7. The breakdown is as follows: about 65,000 targets in the Gaza Strip, 28,000 in Lebanon and Syria, 4,500 in Iran, and 80 in Yemen. Missile launch data show 10,200 rockets launched from Gaza, 20,000 from Lebanon, 1,200 from Iran, 50 from Syria, and 90 from Yemen. The report also includes a graphic listing senior figures killed by IDF actions, naming Hezbollah’s former secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah, former Hezbollah executive council head Hashem Safieddine, Hamas political bureau chairman Yahya Sinwar, Hamas Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades commander Mohammed Deif, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force commander Ali Hajizadeh, and IRGC commander-in-chief Hossein Salami.

Command Initiatives and Infrastructure

The Southern Command established roughly 40 new outposts, while the Intelligence Division created a dedicated data unit for preserving and extracting intelligence. The Air Force refined command structures to enable rapid decentralization in emergent scenarios. Central Command formed the 96th “Gilead” Division on the eastern border and inaugurated the Dead Sea Air Command for regional defense. The Home Front Command expanded warning and defense capabilities, extending protection times and tailoring them to specific threats. The Technology and Logistics Division launched an “acceleration” program aimed at swiftly restoring weapons and infrastructure to operational status.

Personnel Casualties and Recovery

The report records 970 soldiers killed since the war’s outset. More than 70 percent of wounded soldiers have returned to active duty, and reserve forces have grown by approximately 36 percent.

Context and Significance

By quantifying target engagements, missile activity, and command-level developments, the IDF’s three-year report seeks to illustrate the scale of its response to the October 7 attacks and to highlight ongoing efforts to sustain operational readiness across multiple fronts.
