Hamas Swap Demand

Former U.S. adviser Brett McGurk released memoir “Brink: Inside the Race to Free the October 7 2023 Hostages,” detailing post-attack negotiations.
Israeli activist Tzvika Mor and Minister Amichai Chikli said McGurk proved Hamas never planned full releases and that pressure, not concessions, is the path.
McGurk said Hamas demanded a prisoner-for-hostage swap, power retention and a permanent ceasefire.
The late-2025 deal, coordinated with President Donald Trump’s incoming team, freed 33 hostages, McGurk reports.
